The one word that changed my client's pricing

I visited a client's webpage recently and noticed they're selling their course for £250.
It's not cheap. But something bothered me.I knew the value in that course was way higher than the price reflected.
Here's the thing:
Online courses are perceived as 'cheap'.So much so that a course above £50 can feel pricey in some niches.
But there are ways to shift that perception.
Three Ways to Command Premium Pricing:
1. Change Your Language Call it a "programme" instead of a "course." Sounds better. Feels more premium. Same content, different positioning (and works best when paired with points 2 and 3 below).
2. Add a Live Element Even one live session (online) changes perception dramatically. It signals expertise and creates exclusivity - especially if you're the brand and the expert.
3. Focus on the Transformation This is the key. Are you delivering a big, juicy transformation that can change lives? Health, revenue, confidence, career - it doesn't matter. What matters is the size of the change.
Back to My Client
They're absolutely delivering a big transformation. But they're not calling it a programme, and they're not offering any live element.
Is £250 a good price?Yes.Could they be getting more?Probably. With a few tweaks and some additional work, they could command significantly higher pricing.
Maybe that's not what they want right now - and that's fine. But the potential is definitely there.
The Bottom Line
Your pricing isn't just about cost. It's about how you position, package, and present what you're offering.
Until next time,
Jonathan Rose
